Three schools from the state of Maryland will compete in the 26-team field for the upcoming NCAA women's lacrosse tournament, including the University of Maryland, which earned an automatic bid by beating Northwestern, 14-6, in the Big Ten Tournament title game and is the NCAA tournament's top seed.
Navy rolled over Loyola, 15-5, in the Patriot League championship game to capture the conference's automatic bid and end a three-year NCAA tournament drought, while Towson, which lost to Elon in the Colonial Athletic Association tournament semifinals, earned an at-large bid.
