As Towson men's lacrosse head coach Shawn Nadelen and his staff begin recruiting each year, their main focus is on Maryland-area talent.
That strategy has proved beneficial, as the Tigers' run to the 2017 NCAA Tournament has been fueled by the 11 seniors on the roster, eight of which are Maryland natives. Towson (10-4) will face seventh-seeded Penn State in State College, Pa., in a first-round game May 13.
Nadelen is hoping his corps of local players, who helped the Tigers reach the NCAA quarterfinals last season, can lead the team even deeper into this year's tournament.
