MGH, a full-service marketing communications agency, today announced it has named Dave Wassell executive vice president, chief creative officer – a newly created position. Wassell was promoted from senior vice president, creative director. As chief creative officer, Wassell will oversee creative across all mediums and handle the day-to-day management of MGH’s creative department.

“For more than 15 years, I’ve watched Dave excel as an art director – no matter the medium or client. He’s extremely adept at executing big ideas, elevating brands and generating campaigns that not only get noticed, but consistently meet client goals and produce results,” said Andy Malis, chief executive officer of MGH. “We’re thrilled to have Dave manage and challenge our creative team, as well as oversee all creative development for our diverse range of clients.”

Wassell joined the agency in 2001 as a senior art director. In his most recent role, he was responsible for the oversight of all digital creative work and creative direction for several MGH clients, including the Global Franchise Group Brands and Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN).

Throughout his career, Wassell has received more than 200 local, regional and national awards for client campaign work. His creative executions for OLD BAY have won Best in Show at the Baltimore ADDY awards three out of the last five years, as well as two National ADDY awards the past two years.
