Aileen Eskildsen

Ellin & Tucker, the public accounting and business consulting firm, announced today that Aileen Eskildsen, director and professional development coordinator at the firm, was selected to be a mentor at the Baltimore Business Journal’s fourth annual Mentoring Monday event. Mentoring Monday is a speed-coaching event where women are given the opportunity to have one-on-one sessions with influential female mentors of their choice. The event was held on Monday, April 3, 2017 at the Sheraton Baltimore North in Towson, Md.

Mentoring Monday draws an esteemed group of businesswomen each year in a variety of industries such as accounting, education, real estate, law and more. The event is hosted by the American City Business Journals in 43 cities to engage with women in the corporate community. Eskildsen was one of 41 female mentors in Baltimore selected to participate in the 2017 program.

Over the last decade, Eskildsen’s career has been centered around mentoring and developing the next generation of leaders. In 2008, she proactively established and created the professional development coordinator role at Ellin & Tucker, in which she oversees the career development of more than 100 professionals, implements internal training programs, and mentors and manages the firm’s young professionals. She is one of few, if not the only, professional development coordinators at an accounting firm in Maryland.

Not only does she mentor registered CPAs, she also mentors college students at Towson University and Loyola University who are hoping to become CPAs. Eskildsen is an active member of Towson’s accounting advisory board and serves as a business advisor and member of the student programs committee. At Loyola, she spearheaded the creation of a student mentor committee and hosts one-on-one mentoring sessions with accounting students to help them successfully enter the field.

Eskildsen is also committed to mentoring women in business. In 2014, she was invited to join Executive Alliance (previously Network 2000), a Baltimore-based, invitation-only organization dedicated to championing women leaders and promoting the advancement of women in professional and executive positions. She currently serves on the membership committee.

An award-winning leader, Eskildsen has been named one of The Daily Record’s “Top 100 Women” and one of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants’ “Women to Watch.”
