Mindgrub Gears Up for Major Involvement in Light City Baltimore 2017

Baltimore-based innovation agency, Mindgrub, is getting involved in many aspects of Light City Baltimore this year. Light City will feature a festival of light, music and innovation for 9 days starting on Friday, March 31st and ending on Saturday, April 8th.

Mobile App

For the second consecutive year, Mindgrub has developed the Light City mobile app. The Light City mobile app, sponsored by Kaiser Permanente, is free and is now available for download on Apple and Android devices. Attendees are encouraged to download the app prior to their visit in order to see all the festival has to offer, including the festival map, schedule, and important information.

The map, boosted by geolocation software and Mindgrub partner company viaPlace, shows the 58 free attractions along the BGE Light Art Walk at the Inner Harbor, including the 23 illuminated visual artworks, 8 food and beverage bars, live performances, and concert stages. Also included in the map is the Columbus Center, the venue for Labs@LightCity, the festival’s daytime innovation conferences, as well as information on each of the six conferences. New to the app this year will be information on the 8 different Neighborhood Lights locations throughout Baltimore, each one offering illuminated artworks reflecting the personality of the individual communities.

Mindgrub + Comcast Kickoff Party at The Center Club

On Friday, March 31st, Mindgrub is partnering with Comcast to throw the most exclusive party of Light City Baltimore at The Center Club on Light Street. Attendance is by invitation only and will feature a custom designed light installation, DJ, charging stations, and step + repeat red carpet overlooking the Inner Harbor from the 16th Floor of the Transamerica Building on Baltimore’s skyline. Other supporting partners include the American Heart Association,Downtown Partnership of Baltimore, The Umbrella Syndicate, Absolute Entertainment, and ChargingKiosk.com.

Labs@LightCityEdu

On Wednesday, April 5th, The University System of Maryland presents the EduLab@LightCity. The mission of this conference is the rethink learning as future-focused innovators conduct a dialogue on the central role of education in our society.
