Electronic Technology Associates, Cyberbit Announce April Opening For Maryland Range Cybersecurity Training Center

2/16/17

The advanced hands-on cybersecurity training and simulation facility will open April 10th 2017

Electronic Technology Associates (ETA) and Cyberbit have announced today that the Maryland Range cybersecurity training and simulation center in Baltimore Maryland will open its doors on April 10, 2017.

This announcement comes only five months after Bruce Spector, founder and CEO of ETA; Adi Dar, CEO of Cyberbit; Bash Kazi, President and CEO of Kazi Investment Group LLC – joined by Maryland Governor Larry Hogan and Barry Bogage, executive director of the Maryland/Israel Development Center (MIDC) – announced the initiative during the Governor’s trade mission to Israel in September 2016.

The Maryland Range is a live, standalone, hands-on cybersecurity training center that will instruct cybersecurity professionals in protecting national assets and infrastructure against cyberattacks. It will be powered by Cyberbit’s Range Platform, a cybersecurity simulation and training environment that enables security teams to train in realistic settings. Such training allows the teams to respond faster and more effectively to complex and advanced attacks, including ransomware, and to perform better as a team.

“The support of MIDC and Cyberbit was essential in facilitating this rapid launch process,” said Bruce Spector, ETA Founder and CEO. “I’m thrilled to help create highly desired cybersecurity jobs in my hometown, starting this April.”

“The approach of realistic hands-on simulation is proving to be the most effective way to train and certify cyber security professionals,” said Adi Dar, Cyberbit’s CEO. “I am proud to be part of this initiative and look forward to the upcoming launch.”

Centrally located in Baltimore – close to the federal government’s cyber-related activities in Washington, D.C., at Fort Meade, Md., and at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md. – the Maryland Range offers cybersecurity professionals the convenience of training with the most current cyber warfare strategies, close to home.

"Our strategic location, access to cutting-edge technology, and talented workforce put Maryland in a prime position to be the cyber capital of the nation,” said Governor Hogan. “The opening of the Maryland Range in April will provide Marylanders seeking jobs in the cyber industry with access to the latest training and career opportunities available.”

“We’re very pleased that the Maryland Range is about to open its doors here in Maryland,” said Mike Gill, Secretary of the Maryland Department of Commerce. “The training opportunities that the center will make available to cyber warriors – coupled with the jobs it will bring to Baltimore City this year – make this announcement a win for the city and the state.”

“Maryland and Israel are dominant forces in the cybersecurity industry,” said MIDC’s Bogage. “The Maryland/Israel Development Center is honored to have participated in this process and looking forward to seeing trainees using the new Maryland Range.”

Cyberbit will demonstrate the Cyberbit Range Platform at the RSA 2017 conference, booth #S333, South Expo. To set up a demo, visit Cyberbit’s contact page.
