Over 100 people filled the lobby space of Offit Kurman’s law offices last Thursday at a networking meeting to celebrate the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission’s awarding of 104 cannabis dispensary pre-approval licenses. “This has been a long time coming, and is the perfect way to kick off 2017,” said Megan Rogers, one of the leaders of Women Grow Baltimore, a professional networking group, “we are one step closer to getting medicine to patients. These gatherings are about creating a collaborative, inclusive cannabis industry in Maryland.”

Dispensary, cultivation and processing awardees, along with professionals from marketing, investing, advertising, insurance, banking, security and more spent the evening talking together about how the cannabis industry will move forward and making connections to do business together.

“Networking meetings often leave out the people part of doing business,” said Reggie Alston,Business Development Officer for Seven Points, a processor who received pre-approval for licensing in August, “but at Women Grow Baltimore we all come together to talk about how we can build the industry. It’s valuable time spent in person.” Seven Points was one of five sponsors of the meeting, including SC&H Group, Cloud N and Green Leaf Medical. Offit Kurman’s Cannabis Practice served as the host sponsor.
