Bruce J. Lederman

Charles E. Smith Life Communities (CESLC) announced Bruce J. Lederman as President and Chief Executive Officer. Lederman succeeds Warren R. Slavin, who retired and remains with the organization as CEO Emeritus.

Lederman previously held the position of Chief Operating Officer. Since joining the organization in 2015, Lederman has worked with CESLC's leadership teams to continue to achieve key results in support of the organization's mission and values.

"Working with Bruce has been a great experience, and I know that he is the right person to lead CESLC into the future," said Slavin. "I am confident that his work and dedication will continue to support the high-quality care that we deliver and the meaningful impact that we make on residents and families and enable our system of care to continue to grow to meet the needs of seniors in the Greater Washington DC area."

Originally from Chicago, Lederman has an impressive background as an owner and operator of nursing facilities, and possesses exceptional executive and operational experience and business development skills. Prior to CESLC, Lederman served as senior vice president and chief strategy officer for Midwest Administrative Services Inc., a skilled nursing care management company based in St. Louis, Missouri. In addition to his professional experience in the nursing home industry, he is also a former board chair of CJE SeniorLife, the Jewish nonprofit, eldercare provider in Chicago.

"I am thrilled to lead CESLC in the next steps of our journey," said Lederman. "I look forward to working with our team of professional and lay leaders to continue our mission-driven work in the community by addressing the increasing need for quality, professional and compassionate care of older Americans."
