Super Lawyers Recognizes Top 5 Percent of Attorneys in Each State While Only 2.5 Percent of Maryland’s Lawyers Receive Rising Stars Honor

The Law Offices of Evan K. Thalenberg, P.A., a Baltimore-based law practice dedicated to representing lead paint poisoning victims, announced that Cara O’Brien and Jessica Phillips, two of the firm’s leading attorneys, have been recognized on the 2017 Maryland Super Lawyers Rising Stars list. A national rating service of outstanding lawyers, the Super Lawyers list honors the state’s top 5 percent of attorneys who embody excellence in the practice of law. The Rising Star distinction recognizes the top 2.5 percent of Maryland attorneys who are 40 years old or younger, or in practice 10 years or less.

Cara O’Brien joined the Law Offices of Evan K. Thalenberg in 2008 and has settled hundreds of cases for the firm’s clients. Along with the firm’s team, she has tried multiple lead paint cases to verdict, all to successful conclusion, with $5M as the highest verdict to date. Cara is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the Maryland State Bar Association and the Baltimore City Bar Association. This is her first selection to the Maryland Super Lawyers Rising Stars list. Cara graduated cum laude from the University of Maryland School of Law.

Jessica Phillips has practiced law with the firm since 2012. She has successfully tried three cases to verdict with the firm’s team, the total amount being in excess of $7M. She is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the Maryland State Bar Association and the Baltimore City Bar Association. This marks the second consecutive year that Jessica has been recognized on the Maryland Super Lawyers Rising Star list. Jessica graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2011.

“It’s an honor for the firm to have Cara and Jessica receive this prestigious recognition, as they truly embody our dedication to protecting and defending the rights of Baltimore’s lead poisoning victims,” said Evan Thalenberg, Founder of the Law Offices of Evan K. Thalenberg, P.A. “As a firm, we personally care about the City’s youth, and place a strong focus on creating a brighter future for them and the communities where they live. Cara and Jessica, along with the rest of our team, work tirelessly to help victims seek justice because we know they would not have a voice otherwise.”
