Emergency Service Partners Joins US Acute Care Solutions

12/19/16

CANTON, Ohio & AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--US Acute Care Solutions (USACS) today announced Emergency Service Partners (ESP) has entered into a definitive agreement to join USACS, the national physician-owned leader in emergency medicine, hospitalist and observation services as a founding partner.

Founded by emergency medicine physician groups in Colorado, Florida, Maryland and Ohio, USACS is committed to the principle that high-quality patient care and the best hospital partnerships result when physicians maintain ownership and management of their practices. Since 1988, ESP has been dedicated to the same principle and joins USACS as a founding partner.

Approximately 750 physician and advanced practice providers of ESP treat over one million patients annually at 36 locations in Texas.

“ESP has a national reputation for quality patient care and strong hospital system relationships,” said Dominic J. Bagnoli MD, CEO, USACS. “Through this partnership, we are making a significant investment in the acute care patient experience in Texas, and both our hospital partners and the communities we serve will benefit.”

“As one of the leading physician-owned emergency medicine groups in the United States, we are thrilled about joining other like-minded groups as a founding partner of USACS,” said Cheryl Conner RN, CEO, ESP. “ESP shares the same fundamental belief with USACS that the physician-owned model is the most effective model for the delivery of patient-centered care.”

Sam Roberts MD and Bruce Moskow MD, both founding partners of ESP, agreed. “This is a most appropriate second chapter in ESP’s history. We founded this company because we believed our patients’ interests were better served by independent physicians. USACS was founded for the same reason. We are as excited today about the future of emergency medicine in Texas as we were nearly 30 years ago when we started ESP.”

This partnership agreement, which has been approved by the shareholders of ESP, is subject to customary closing conditions, and is expected to close January 1, 2017.
