Holly McGovern
The Y in Central Maryland is pleased to welcome Holly McGovern as program director for The Ward Y in Abingdon. In this role, McGovern will be responsible for all non-swim programs at the Y Center, including family and sports programs such as Youth and Government, Stay and Play, Funshops, and Fit and Fun.
For the past eleven years, McGovern served as the head women's basketball coach and CHOICES program coordinator at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA). She also held previous roles within the athletic department, such as the head coach of women's tennis, assistant coach of the soccer team and coordinator of student-athlete development. During her tenure at MCLA, she implemented numerous drug and alcohol programs and youth activities within the community.
McGovern graduated from Westfield State University with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology, and from MCLA with a Master's of Education with a concentration in physical education. She lives in Harford County with her husband and their two children.
