Verizon Is Offering Free Workshops for Kids in Virtual Reality and Coding

11/20/16

The Verizon Wireless store in Bethesda is one of six stores to offer Verizon Innovative Learning Labs this fall

WHAT

For the first time, Verizon Innovative Learning is using retail stores to provide kids ages 8-12 with hands-on experiences in advanced technology. Through expert-led courses in the new Verizon Innovative Learning labs, kids will gain skills in virtual reality, 3D design and printing, robotics, coding and more.

On October 1, the labs opened to students of all experience levels at the Bethesda Verizon Smart Store and five other locations across the country. The November Lab focuses on gaming and coding, each student will have the opportunity to code their very own video game. Workshops are led by instructors from the national education nonprofit Project Lead The Way.

Parents can learn more information and register their children to participate in the labs at www.verizon.com/learninglabs.

Members of the media are invited to attend the upcoming lab sessions at either 11 AM or 1 PM on November 19, 2016 to experience the gaming and coding lesson alongside the students in attendance.

 WHY
