Ronald McDonald House Charities Baltimore Launches Million Dollar Match Campaign For Its New House

11/15/16

Now through December 31st, Every Dollar Donated will be Matched by Maryland-based Kahlert Foundation, plus for every Million Dollar Match game played, $1 will be donated to RMHCB

Get ready to play the game, challenge a friend and help make a match! The Ronald McDonald House Charities Baltimore announced today the most ambitious matching opportunity in its history that features a fun, online game to educate the public about RMHC Baltimore and its new House while raising significant dollars. Now through December 31, 2016, the Maryland-based Kahlert Foundation has committed to matching every dollar donated, dollar-for-dollar, with the goal of raising $1 million dollars for the new Ronald McDonald House Charities Baltimore.

And to help get the word out, RMHC Baltimore created the Million Dollar Match Game – an online game that is a race against the clock to match as many cards as possible packed with fun facts about the House. The goal of the game is to get the highest score, while at the same time help the Ronald McDonald House raise as much money as possible before the end of the year. To play the game is free, and it offers a fun-in-a-million chance to help RMHC Baltimore families, since every time it is played, $1 will be donated to the Our New House Campaign! Donations beyond the matching game are encouraged and will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Kahlert Foundation.

The Kahlert Foundation has generously agreed to match every donation made to the House by December 31st, up to $500,000. “The Kahlert Foundation strongly believes in the mission of RMHC Baltimore and has been actively involved on many fronts - the annual Red Shoe Shuffle, the Holiday Party and HamburGala,” said Greg Kahlert. “It pains us to know the existing house simply cannot accommodate all the families who need a place to stay while their children receive medical care in Baltimore. We see firsthand how difficult it is for the House to turn away families. A bigger House will afford more families the kind of love and compassion Ronald McDonald House Charities Baltimore is known for and we are thrilled to help make that happen.”

Now is the time to make a difference and double the impact for the organization. The Million Dollar Match only lasts through the end of this year but the money raised will have a longlasting impact on families who benefit from Maryland’s only Ronald McDonald House. And a donation to the new House is a great holiday gift in celebration or in honor of a loved one, as well as a great opportunity for corporate year-end matching.
