HackCarey 3.0 Brings Back Another Year of Educating & Mentoring Local High School Students

10/28/16

HackCarey is back for its third year to take place on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.

HackCarey 3.0, hosted by Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, is a full day coding event for Baltimore City high school students. During the event, students will develop a web-game using HTML5 and Javascript, and will share their projects via social media, using hashtag #HackCarey.

Through the help of sponsors Mindgrub, Capital One and Johns Hopkins, HackCarey 3.0 will provide breakfast and lunch for the students along with mentoring from Mindgrub and other local coders and an awards program at the end of the day.

This is the second year that local digital agency, Mindgrub, has participated in HackCarey. Mindgrub’s Vice President of Software Engineering, Jason Michael Perry, will present one of the five lessons planned for the students. HackCarey 3.0 is seeking additional volunteers to present lessons or serve as coding mentors at the event.

For more information on to get involved as a lesson presenter, coding mentor or as a Baltimore City high school student, please contact Brad Waters at bwaters8@jhu.edu.
