ETIS16 Boasted Multidimensional Sessions and What's Next for EdTech

10/6/16

On Wednesday, September 28, 2016, Mindgrub hosted the 3rd Annual Education Technology Innovation Summit (ETIS16) at its McHenry Row Campus headquarters in Baltimore, MD. The goal for every year’s ETIS is to provide an opportunity for EdTech professionals and educators to share education strategies and explore the innovative ways technology is reshaping the traditional and digital classrooms.

This year’s theme was "EdTech Dimensions.” And everything about the conference was multidimensional in nature from the new tech presented to the navigation of the McHenry Row Campus to the multiple tracks with presentations from the likes of Frank Bonsal, III of Towson University, Greg Williams, Ed. D. of University of Maryland, Robert Kearns of Johns Hopkins University, Gretchen LeGrand of Code in the Schools, Leslie McBeth of Future Design School and Chris Magnuson of Dig-It! Games. Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, the Internet of Things, Drones, Wearables, Game-based Learning, E-Learning, Design Thinking and Blended Learning Tools were just some of the education technology presented at ETIS16. Mindgrub also demoed its new Holodeck, a virtual reality game room, where microsessions were hosted for ETIS attendees to experience new frontiers in VR gaming.

ETIS16 sponsors included TranzEd Apprenticeship Services, Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore, Maryland Auto Insurance, Diamondback Brewery, and LinganoreWinecellars. Mindgrub Cafe catered breakfast, lunch from their food truck and cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres.
