Fine will be recognized at 8th Annual WaveMaker Awards

The Baltimore District Council of The Urban Land Institute (ULI) is pleased to announce it has named Stanley Fine the 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award winner.

Fine, a partner with Rosenberg Martin Greenberg, LLP, will be recognized at ULI’s eighth annual WaveMaker Awards on Thursday, October 6 at the Horseshoe Casino Baltimore.

ULI’s Lifetime Achievement Award is given to a recognized leader in the development community who has served more than two decades; has touched all aspects of development (acquisition, design, financing, implementation); and has touched a variety of different land uses (retail, office residential, hospitality, etc.).

Over the last 35 years, Fine has represented developers and business owners in every type of project, assisting Baltimore’s real estate professionals in obtaining approvals for everything from small-scale restaurants to large apartment complexes to vast industrial operations. His institutional knowledge of the regulations and his insight into political nuance guide his perspective on each project, allowing him to find the most practical solution.

He is highly sought after for his proven ability to bring prominent and challenging commercial, industrial and residential projects to realization. Fine’s strategic and individualized approach is to create solutions that work for the client, the community, and the government agencies involved in each project. He is a lifetime resident of Baltimore City, and has developed long-term relationships with developers, engineers, architects, attorneys, planners and others engaged in real estate development.

Fine is also a co-founder of the Baltimore Development Workgroup, and previously served as the Director of the Maryland State Lottery Agency and Chairman of the Maryland State Lottery Commission. He is a former member of the Baltimore City Planning Commission.

He has been given the honor of being named Best Lawyers Land Use & Zoning Lawyer of the Year for 2011-2014, as well as being named one of Maryland's top land use and zoning attorneys in the 2007-2017 editions of Best Lawyers in America and the 2007-2013 and 2015-2016 editions of Baltimore Magazine's Maryland Super Lawyers.

“It is an honor to present Stanley Fine with our Lifetime Achievement Award,” said Lisa Norris, ULI Baltimore District Council Coordinator. “Stanley has worked tirelessly on behalf of many – if not most – of Baltimore’s real estate developers, always with the goal of reaching consensus between his clients, City regulators, and local community associations. Throughout his career his priority has been to make the City of Baltimore a better place to live and work.”

The 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient was Donald Manekin founding member of Seawall Development.
