WYPR has announced that Darcy C. Carroll, a portfolio manager for Brown Advisory, has recently been named chairman of the station’s board of directors. She previously served as secretary of the board.

“The directors of WYPR’s board offer wide ranging and diverse perspectives that influence the future of WYPR. It is critical for an organization like WYPR to have skillful leadership, and we are excited to have a chair as dynamic as Darcy,” said Tony Brandon, president and general manager of WYPR.

Prior to Brown Advisory, Carroll was a vice president for Credit Suisse where she oversaw several institutional relationships. She began her career in 1995 at Alex Brown & Sons.

Carroll is a graduate of the University of Virginia. She attended Roland Park Country School, and continues to be involved to this day as a trustee.

Active in the community, Carroll is a member of the United Way of Central Maryland’s Women’s Leadership Council. She is also a member of the Roland Park Community Foundation’s investment committee and is an active volunteer for Catholic Charities and Civic Works. Carroll formerly represented Baltimore City as a commissioner of the Maryland Commission for Women.
