The Daily Record Names Hamilton Bank CEO Robert DeAlmeida a 2016 Most Admired CEO

Robert DeAlmeida

The Daily Record has named Hamilton Bank President and CEO Robert DeAlmeida as one of Maryland’s 2016 Most Admired CEOs. The community bank has been in business for more than 100 years and operates seven branches in the Greater Baltimore area.

DeAlmeida’s tenure at Hamilton Bank began in 1990 when he was hired as the bank’s chief financial officer. At the time, the bank had two locations and fewer than 25 employees. The bank has since experienced significant growth, completing the acquisitions of two community banks in the past year alone. In part to celebrate more than 100 years in business, DeAlmeida and other members of the Hamilton Bank team were invited to ring the closing bell at Nasdaq in Times Square on July 18.

The Daily Record created the Most Admired CEOs awards program to recognize talented business CEOs and nonprofit executive directors throughout Maryland for their leadership and professionalism. The winners were selected based on their leadership and vision; competitiveness and innovation; community leadership and service; financial performance and growth; corporate leadership and board service; and nonprofit involvement. DeAlmeida is a very active volunteer on boards including the Maryland Chamber of Commerce and Healthy Neighborhoods. He also serves on the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond's Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council and the University of Baltimore Merrick School of Business Dean’s Advisory Council. Additionally, DeAlmeida serves on the Neighborhood Housing Services of Baltimore loan committee as well as the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland finance and investment committee.

This year's winners of the Most Admired CEOs awards were selected by a panel of business and legal professionals and a representative of The Daily Record.

"Strong decision making, creativity, leadership and commitment to a better Maryland defines this year's Most Admired CEOs," said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, publisher of The Daily Record. "They are leaders who have in-depth knowledge about running a company or organization yet also inspire and motivate others to achieve their goals. The Daily Record is honored to recognize their outstanding leadership."

The 2016 Most Admired CEOs will be honored Sept. 22 at a dinner starting at 5:30 p.m. at the BWI Hilton, 1739 West Nursery Road in Linthicum Heights. Winners will be profiled in a special magazine that will be inserted into the Sept. 23 issue of The Daily Record and available online at www.TheDailyRecord.com.
