Smith, Gildea & Schmidt’s Mariela D’Alessio Initiated as a Fellow in the Maryland Bar Foundation

Mariela D’Alessio, an attorney with Smith, Gildea & Schmidt, LLC (SGS), a regional law firm based in Towson, was initiated as a Fellow in the Maryland Bar Foundation at their Annual Meeting on June 16th.

A Fellow, which is limited to no more than 2.5% of Maryland State Bar Association membership, is an attorney recognized for his or her “outstanding dedication and contribution to maintaining the honor and integrity of the legal profession, the improvement and facilitation of the administration of justice, the work of the organized Bar of Maryland and civic leadership.”

She’s such a valuable part of our team here at SGS and we’re glad her hard work and commitment to the legal profession and her community is being recognized.”

D’Alessio, the Chair of the Estates and Trust Department, joined SGS as an associate attorney in 2014. Her practice focuses on estate planning and estate and trust administration. She most recently was named a “Rising Star” in the field of law in 2014, 2015 and 2016 by Super Lawyers magazine.

Prior to joining SGS, D’Alessio worked initially as a paralegal and then as an associate attorney at the AV-rated firm of Bodie, Dolina, Hobbs, Friddell and Grenzer, P.C. D’Alessio is a graduate of Florida Coastal School of Law and Villa Julie College, now known as Stevenson University.

D'Alessio is licensed to practice law in Florida, Maryland and Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA), Baltimore County Bar Association (BCBA), Baltimore County Estate and Trust Committee, and is an active member of the Young Lawyer Section of the Baltimore County Bar Association. She is also a member of the following Florida Bar Sections: Business Law; Out-of-State Practitioners Division; Real Property Probate and Trust Law; and The Young Lawyers Division; and the following Pennsylvania Bar Sections: Pennsylvania Bar Association; and the York County Bar Association.
