Baltimore-based education finance technology (edfintech) company Allovue is adding Pueblo County School District 70 to its rapidly growing roster of school district partners, which already includes notable districts such as Indianapolis Public Schools, New Haven Public Schools, and Santa Ana Unified School District.
District 70 is located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Pueblo, CO and serves over 8,000 students with a budget supervised by Superintendent Ed Smith and CFO T.J. Vinci. “We launched in March and within a few weeks had usable data and visualizations,” said Vinci of what excites him about Balance. Grant reports that used to take Mr. Vinci’s team hours to assemble with months-old data can now be created in seconds with up-to-date transactional data. “The response from our staff has been incredibly positive. All of my site-based and finance staff thank me regularly for launching our partnership with Allovue."
Allovue’s goal is to help districts make the most informed financial decisions for their schools and their students, and District 70 is a prime example of the impact of this pioneering edfintech work. “We are especially excited about our partnership with District 70 and TJ’s team,” said Kate Kotaska, Allovue’s Sr. District Partner and former Executive Budget Director of Denver Public Schools, of the launch. “They are a smart and caring group, initially using Balance to improve their monthly reporting processes in central office, and now preparing to empower principals with direct access to their schools’ financial data.” Allovue is also providing District 70 budget managers with professional development on financial management and analysis.
The announcement of the launch in District 70 comes on the heels of Allovue debuting Balance 2.0, an improved version of the company’s flagship product, which boasts a streamlined user experience and more tools for district and school leaders to analyze budgets.
