EOIR Awarded the James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award for 2016

6/19/16

EOIR Technologies, Inc. announced today that it was awarded the 2016 James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award. This award is the highest honor the Defense Security Service (DSS) presents to cleared industry partners. Of the more than 13,500 cleared defense contractors in the industry, approximately 500 companies were nominated this year, and after a competitive down select, EOIR was selected as one of only 42 facilities to receive an award.

Established in 1966, the Cogswell Award demonstrates the need for a true partnership between industry and government to ensure the protection of classified information, materials, and programs. To receive an award, a company must meet strict DSS criteria that focus on principles of industrial security excellence. Factors include establishing and maintaining a security program that far exceeds the basic National Industrial Security Program requirements and providing leadership to other cleared facilities in establishing best practices while maintaining the highest standards for security.

The selection process is rigorous. Nominations can only come from a DSS Industrial Security Representative and only after the company has achieved a superior rating for two consecutive security assessments. After nomination, companies must undergo an intense panel review of their security program at various DSS levels and must show a sustained degree of excellence and innovation in their overall security program management, implementation, and oversight. The list ranking is then submitted to the Director of DSS for final approval.

"We are extremely honored to be recognized by DSS for demonstrating our ongoing commitment to safeguarding sensitive information and upholding security policies and procedures," said Diane Moulton, Vice President of Operations and Compliance and Corporate Facility Security Officer (FSO). "It is an outstanding achievement for EOIR to be a recipient of the Cogswell award. It shows exceptional dedication and support from our senior leadership, security staff, and employees for going above and beyond in supporting our national security policies and procedures. The success of our security program is also greatly attributed to our close partnerships with DSS, FBI, and other Government agencies that are responsible for securing our nation's technology."

Ms. Moulton along with Peter Cannito, EOIR's Chief Operating Officer, accepted the award on behalf of the company at the National Classification Management Society (NCMS) national meeting held during the 52nd Annual Training Seminar on June 8th in Nashville, TN.
