CohnReznick Raises $4,000 at 14TH Annual Baltimore Charity Golf Tournament

CohnReznick LLP, one of the leading accounting, tax, and advisory firm in the United States, raised approximately $4,000 at its 14th Annual Baltimore Charity Golf Tournament. Proceeds from the tournament benefit Project PLASE, or People Lacking Ample Shelter and Employment, a non-profit organization that seeks to provide essential housing and support services to homeless citizens in Baltimore.

CohnReznick hosted the tournament at Rocky Point Golf Course in Essex, Maryland on June 19, 2015. More than 60 attendees came out to support the mission of Project PLASE. Participants in this year’s event had the opportunity to bid on assorted raffle items and compete in the longest drive and closest to the pin contests for both men and women.

“For 14 years, we have been proud to support Baltimore’s charitable organizations with proceeds from our annual Charity Golf Tournament,” said Lucas Matesa, a partner at CohnReznick and a member of Project PLASE’s board of directors. “Project PLASE is a very special organization that is working tirelessly to help the nearly 4,000 people who experience homelessness on any given night in Baltimore City. We hope that by raising awareness and resources, we can help them reach achieve their mission to eliminate homelessness.”

Project PLASE, Inc. addresses homelessness in Baltimore by providing transitional housing, permanent housing, and supportive services to homeless adults. It serves the most vulnerable and underserved, including persons with mental illness, HIV/AIDS, addiction, developmental disabilities, and ex-offenders. Project PLASE treats, restores, and rehabilitates the whole person in an effort to empower each individual to function at the highest level possible.

CohnReznick’s annual Baltimore golf tournament began 14 years ago to provide support for the family of a CohnReznick employee who was diagnosed with a rare blood disease. Continuing this tradition of service to those in need in our community, the tournament supports a different charitable organization in Baltimore each year.
