On Thursday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed unchanged, the NASDAQ up 0.7%, and the S&P 500 up 0.1%. Closing up 0.3%, prominent Baltimore stocks finished up with the market overall.

Biggest Gainer
In Baltimore, Severn Bancorp Inc (NASDAQ:SVBI) was the biggest gainer Thursday. Rising 9.3%, shares closed at $3.40. Trading at two times their average volume over the past three months, 3,270 shares of the stock changed hands. Rising 4.8% to close at $35.38 on volume of 575,146, Sourcefire, Inc. (NASDAQ:FIRE) also finished strong.

Biggest Loser
Of the stocks losing ground Thursday, the one hit hardest was Osiris Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ:OSIR). The share price was $5.03 at closing, a 14.7% drop. The stock changed hands at 4.6 times its current three-month average volume, with 295,664 shares traded. Telecommunication Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:TSYS) traded on volume of 285,280 to close at $2.84 (-2.4%), making it another big loser.
