Jit Sinha Appointed General Partner at JMI Equity

Jit Sinha
JMI Equity, a growth equity firm, has promoted Jit Sinha to General Partner and Brian Hersman and Robert Nye to Principal. Sinha and Nye are based in Baltimore and focus on investments in the software and internet sectors, respectively. Hersman, who was promoted in August, is based in San Diego and focuses on investments in the software sector.
"Jit has made many valuable contributions to JMI, including helping to lead our software investment efforts and building and training our team," said Harry Gruner, Founder and Managing General Partner of JMI Equity. "He is a strong leader and investor, and we are fortunate to have him as a General Partner at JMI."

Sinha joined JMI Equity in 2007. He currently serves on the boards of directors of AppNeta, Compusearch Software Systems, Empathica and iContact, and is actively involved with the firm's investments in Gemcom and Datatel+SGHE. Prior to joining JMI Equity, Sinha was a Principal at Bain Capital Ventures. He began his career working with technology companies in strategy consulting and operating positions, and received a BS in Finance and a BA in Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania.
Hersman joined JMI Equity in 2008. He currently serves on the boards of directors of BigMachines and PowerPlan. Mr. Hersman was previously a Senior Associate at Vista Equity Partners and a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company. He received a BA in Economics and Computer Science from Case Western Reserve University, an MS in Management of Information Systems from the Weatherhead School at Case Western Reserve University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Nye joined JMI Equity in 2005. He currently serves on the boards of directors of Appriss, DoubleVerify and Harmony Information Systems, and is actively involved the firm's investments in Adknowledge, Axeda, BrightLine, iContact and Undertone. Prior to joining JMI Equity, Mr. Nye was a Consultant with Bates White, an economic consulting firm. He received an AB in Economics and a Certificate in Finance from Princeton University.
