Faster, More Economical Message Personalization Possible Across More Print Formats

Prince Frederick, Md. -- DirectMail.comTM (www.DirectMail.com), a leading provider of integrated direct marketing solutions, is proud to announce it has expanded its in-house data and personalization capabilities through two recent equipment acquisitions. The unprecedented message segmentation capabilities delivered by its patented GeoSelectorTM technology prompted the firm to diversify its equipment portfolio to leverage the strategic marketing information its proprietary tool delivers. DirectMail.com can now offer customers more options for individualization and personalization across a greater variety of marketing material formats in wide-ranging stocks of diverse dimensions. Because production will stay in house, DirectMail.com can deliver high-quality materials faster and more economically.

DirectMail.com installed two new Canon imagePRESS C7010VP digital printers. These printers, which are rated at or near offset quality at 1,200 by 1,200 dpi, offer fully variable, full-color capabilities. They double DirectMail.com's capacity to offer print-on-demand products, especially "version of one" marketing pieces created for commercial and nonprofit clients.

DirectMail.com also purchased an MCS Eagle UV Inkjet system with a 4.25" print head. The system, which offers the widest 600 dpi inkjet head on the market, simplifies printing of oversized or unusual pieces, such as graphics, barcodes, tags and tickets. Beyond accommodating wide print widths, the system supports difficult substrates such as coated aqueous stocks, plastic cards and more.

Chris Zarnosky, president of DirectMail.com's data and personalization division, said, "Steady growth in the on-demand retail orders generated via our corporate web-to-print portal provided part of the rationale behind the acquisitions. The main driver, however, was the demand created by the numerous marketing portals we've custom designed for our enterprise and agency clients."

Zarnosky continued, "Our GeoSelector technology provides customers detailed data in an actionable format, allowing them to target messaging at levels never before possible. With this enhanced ability to identify prospects' specific interests and needs came the requirement to produce highly individualized marketing materials economically. The imagePRESS C7010VP digital printers and MCS Eagle UV Inkjet deliver the needed data and personalization functionality, expanding our ability to personalize messaging quickly and economically. Speed and cost savings increase the success rate of customers' calls to action and the ROI achieved."
