RCM&D Hosts Seminar Featuring National Expert on Cyber Security for Law Firms

RCM&D, a leading insurance and benefits advisory firm, will be hosting a seminar on Cyber Security for Law Firms, an important emerging risk in the legal community.
"Law firms of all sizes and profiles rely on technology to conduct their business, increasing the firm's vulnerability to costly electronic security threats," said Tim McGee of RCM&D's Professional Service Practice. "Cyber attacks on law firms are becoming more common and the security breaches create significant threats."
The insurance industry has responded in recent years by developing cyber liability insurance to help protect companies from the increasing liability resulting from a breach of private information and data and to help protect "digital assets".
The seminar will examine how security breaches can impact law firms and best practices to help mitigate the risks and minimize damages for the firm.
RCM&D is proud to host Matt Magner, Senior Underwriting Officer from the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, who specializes in professional and management liability risks for law firms, including cyber security, and has worked in the insurance industry for more than a decade.
"The threat of a data breach can come from a hacker halfway around the globe or a simple mistake such as a misplaced laptop, smart phone or thumb drive," said Magner. "But, the result is the same...potentially catastrophic out-of-pocket and reputational costs to a law firm."
