Adelberg, Rudow, Dorf & Hendler Members Paul Dorf & Walter Stone To Speak At MSBA Mid-Year Meeting

BALTIMORE - Adelberg, Rudow, Dorf & Hendler, LLC (ARD&H) Members Paul A. Dorf and Walter R. Stone will be featured speakers at the Mid-Year Meeting of the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA), occurring Feb. 18-25 in Panama.
Dorf
A former associate judge of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, Dorf will present Current Trends in ADR. The session will explore various forms of alternative dispute resolution including arbitration, collaborative law, mediation and mini-jury trials.
Certified by the courts and alternative dispute resolution organizations in the field of alternative dispute resolution, Dorf conducts private arbitrations and mediations in both civil and domestic disputes. He has served as a neutral for alternative dispute resolution organizations such as the American Arbitration Association, National Arbitration Forum, Resolute, and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). The Circuit Courts for Baltimore County and Baltimore City, as well as the Orphans' Court for Baltimore County and Baltimore City have appointed him as an official mediator.
Since joining ARD&H in 1983, he has devoted his practice to family law, litigation and alternative dispute resolution. Admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and U.S District Court, Dorf has earned many accolades throughout his career. Recent accomplishments include election into 2009 Corporate Counsel Edition Super Lawyers: Alternative Dispute Resolution; 2007 through 2009 Maryland Super Lawyers, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and The Best Lawyers in America®, 2008 through 2011.
A Fellow of the Maryland Bar Foundation, he holds memberships in the Maryland State Bar and Baltimore County Bar associations. Dorf also has served on the Governor's Commission on Alternate Dispute Resolution, as well as the faculty of the University of Baltimore Law School, University of Maryland University College, Paralegal Studies Department and Maryland Institute for Continuing Professional Education of Lawyers.
Stone
At the MSBA Mid-Year Meeting, Stone will present 2012 Tax Updates. His talk will cover recently enacted and proposed federal legislation relating to tax measures, items the President outlined in the State of the Union address, ideas advanced by the Republican candidates, and the Governor's proposal to increase state income taxes paid by wealthy Marylanders.
Stone made his MSBA Mid-Year Meeting speaking debut in 1984, and has presented annually since 2003. He also has been a frequent lecturer for several professional associations and groups, including the Maryland Institute for Continuing Professional Education of Lawyers, National Business Institute and Lorman Educational Services. In addition to MSBA, he is a member of the Bar Association of Baltimore City and the American Bar Association, Sections of Taxation and Real Property, Probate and Trust.
A Certified Public Accountant (inactive) with a Master of Laws in Taxation degree from Georgetown University Law Center, Stone joined ARD&H in 1995. He concentrates his practice on the acquisition, sale, development and management of commercial real estate, as well as general business, corporate and taxation law.
