BALTIMORE - Ayers Saint Gross, an architecture, planning and design firm with offices in Baltimore, Washington, DC, and Tempe, Ariz., is pleased to announce that Edward Kohls, a principal of the firm, has been selected as member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) College of Fellows. In serving the fellowship, Mr. Kohls will work to advance the profession of architecture and be of ever-increasing service to society. Fellowship in the AIA is a high honor and recognizes architects who have made significant contributions to both the architecture profession and to society at large. To achieve the fellowship, the candidate is recommended by a current fellow and undergoes an extensive audit of his or her career. Only two percent of all architects in the United States are elected to AIA fellowship. Kohls previously served as AIA Maryland's president and has been a member of the Board of Architectural Review for the State of Maryland since 1992. He is recognized as a leader in design for higher education campuses and academic buildings, and his fellowship demonstrates his long-standing commitment to excellence in this arena. "Being named to the AIA's College of Fellows is greatly fulfilling, and I look forward to increasing my service to the profession and to the community," Kohls said.
