Roger J. Marquis, Jr.
Marquis, will oversee all of Penn-Mar's fundraising and development efforts in Maryland and Pennsylvania, including major gifts, corporate and foundation relations and special events.
Bringing more than 25 years of nonprofit fund development experience to Penn-Mar, Marquis will be responsible for ensuring that the human service organization's culture, systems and procedures support fund development and vice versa.
Marquis comes to Penn-Mar from the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS). From 1998 to 2011, he served UMMS, rising from the position of director to vice president of development and president and CEO of the UMMS Foundation, building his reputation and expertise in all areas of philanthropy, fundraising and major gifts. Prior to this, Marquis was director of development of the Baltimore Museum of Art and development operations manager of the Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, D.C.
Founded in 1981, Penn-Mar Human Services, based in Freeland, Md., serves more than 400 adults with developmental disabilities through its residential, respite, educational, vocational and supported employment programs in northern Baltimore, Carroll and Harford Counties in Maryland, and in southern York County in Pennsylvania.
