Saul Ewing LLP Names Two Partners To Firm’s Executive Committee

Gary B. Eidelman and Deborah L. Spranger, partners and Vice Chairs of the Business and Finance Practice in Saul Ewing's Baltimore, MD and Chesterbrook, PA offices respectively, have been elected to the Firm's Executive Committee, effective immediately. The seven-attorney committee serves as the firm's managing body; they will each serve a five-year term.

Eidelman has built his career representing management in labor and employment law and his practice includes in all aspects of labor and employment law and litigation matters, including employment discrimination, harassment, disability and leave, wrongful discharge, non-competition agreements, wage and hour, occupational safety and health, affirmative action compliance, fair housing and general employment and business counseling. In addition to his role as Vice Chair of the Business and Finance Practice, Eidelman is the Firm's Marketing Partner and Vice Office Managing Partner of the Baltimore office. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore and ACHARAI: The Shoshana S. Cardin Leadership Development Institute. He is a Fellow in The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, is active in the American Bar Association's Section of Labor and Employment Law and has been designated a "Maryland Super Lawyer" by Law & Politics and Baltimore magazines every year since 2007, and has been recognized as one of "America's Leading Lawyers in Employment Law" by Chambers USA since 2005.

Eidelman received his B.A. from the University of Maryland and his J.D., magna cum laude, from the Widener University School of Law.

Spranger is a business transactional attorney with significant experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and the licensing and commercialization of intellectual property. She serves as outside General Counsel to technology, manufacturing and other companies of all sizes, including a number of start-up and growth-stage biotechnology, specialty pharma and medical device companies. She assists companies in a wide variety of corporate and commercial matters, from counseling on formation and organizational issues, to developing strategies to incentivize and retain employees, to negotiating and documenting licensing, supply and distribution arrangements with customers and suppliers. In addition to her role as Vice Chair of the Business and Finance Practice, Spranger is Co-Chair of the Firm's Life Sciences practice and the creator of its Medical Device Roundtable Series. She is active in community and industry organizations, including serving on the Boards of Directors of the Southeastern Economic Development Council of Pennsylvania and the Chester County Keystone Innovation Zone.

Spranger received her B.A., cum laude, from Furman University and her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law.

Eidelman and Spranger will replace Partners Barry F. Levin and John F. Stoviak, who will rotate off the Executive Committee.
