Those folks who predict the economic future are saying that the recovery is going to be slower than we'll like, and probably not as large as we had hoped either. Everyone I talk to is trying how to move forward and foster an upbeat focus on the job. Customers are cutting budgets and hoping you'll cut prices to match. Before you meet your customers desire - review these strategies to insure that no one thinks you are reducing quality and service.
Best Time - Announce special promotions and discounts when your clients have the most to spend. Think about budget cycle, payday, or the beginning of the quarter.
Customize the Answer - Ask your clients what they need to solve their problem and then craft a mix of offerings, products or devices to meet the need they have, focusing on the affordability.
Create Deals - Create a discounted brand or offer coupons for specific products that warrant attention. Are things slow on Monday or Friday? Focus deals on those days.
See Through the Customer's Eyes - What do your customers want to see? Discounts for quantity? A 13 item dozen? Price points such as $99.95, or $4.99? Highlight what they save on products and services. Throw in shipping.
Flexibility - The willingness to negotiate can show that you are more interested in the relationship with your customer than a specific sale. Offer a variety of options to choose from. As long as you are communicating with clients, the possibility of doing business exists. Work to keep the conversation going. Learn about their constraints and goals.
No matter when your financial picture brightens, you want to be able to keep your customers. Smart strategies could mean that you'll attract news clients as well
