New Enterprise Associates Joins $88M Round for Soraa

Fremont, Calif.-based Soraa Inc., a company developing technology for energy efficient lighting, has closed on $88.6 million in fresh capital, according to a regulatory filing. Formed in 2008 and previously known as SJS Technology Inc., the company says it is commercializing LEDs and laser diodes for various lighting uses.
Directors include NEA general partner Ravi Viswanathan, Former SunPower CFO Emmanuel Hernandez and SilverLake managing director Charles Giancarlo. According to the company's website, Soraa is backed by Khosla Ventures and NEA.
