The Baltimore Humane Society Team Announces Appointments

Reisterstown, MD - Baltimore Humane Society (BHS) is proud to announce that there are a few new members joining their team. Of course, Baltimore Humane Society relies on those employees who work each day to support the pets at the shelter, but BHS is now looking to expand its horizons out in the community, and reach for new opportunities to support these pets and find them forever homes. The new members include: Ms. Jen Swanson, Director of Development, Mr. Andrew Mazan, Pet Funeral Director, and Ms. Elizabeth Silber, Director of Marketing and Public Relations.
Ms. Jen Swanson, Director of Development joined BHS in January 2011. From 2001-2010, Ms. Swanson held the position of Development Assistant at the Basilica of the Assumption Historic Trust, Inc., where she was part of the fundraising team, which was able to raise $35 million dollars for the restoration of America's First Cathedral. Ms. Swanson has also served as the assistant to the Executive Director, volunteer and tour coordinators, graphic designer, webmaster, and office manager for the Basilica Historic Trust, Inc. In her spare time, she enjoys photography, and spending time with her adorable Boston Terriers, Daphne and April.
Mr. Andrew Mazan, Pet Funeral Director joined BHS in January of 2011 as well. Previously, Mr. Mazan worked at Evan's Funeral home as a Mortician's Apprentice and Johns Hopkins as a patient care tech. Mr. Mazan's main goal is to bring excellent customer service and appropriate funeral services to those in the Maryland communities. Per Mr. Mazan, "[I would like to] provide the proper compassion needed in this area to comforts families in these times of need while dealing with the loss of a pet." Finally, Mr. Mazan is excited to renew BHS' Funeral Services and Cemetery Department and continue to help BHS grow.
Lastly, Ms. Elizabeth Silber, Director of Marketing and Public Relations joined BHS in early November of 2010. Graduating from Towson University with a bachelor's degree in strategic public relations, she seeks to grow the outside relationships of the Baltimore Humane Society. She has previously worked at Renegade Productions, Mid-Atlantic Sports Network, and Persels and Associates, LLC with a focus on communications. Ms. Silber is looking forward to creating new and innovative opportunities for BHS.
Baltimore Humane Society is a privately funded 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
